Forensic pathologist Kang (Seol Kyeong-gu) is assigned to examine the dismembered corpse of a female murder victim. Byeong-hee (Park Hie-Sun) is having mental problems because of the sudden loss of his wife. Su-jang (Kang Hye-Jeong) is wacky, lacks social skills, doesn’t have a big dream in life, but dreams of miraculous love. These two disparate strangers are set to soon cross paths.

Su-jang was dumped by her first love Ji-min Park (Seung-Ri) and has been stalking him for the last ten years. To get a better view of Ji-min’s house, she breaks into his neighbor’s house owned by Byeong-hee.

Once she enters Byeong-hee’s house she finds him attempting to hang himself and saves him. She then ties his hands and legs together and locks him up. Love is about to sprout from the strangest of places.

Hye-ja (Kim Hye-Ja) is a long ago widowed mother who lives alone with her only son Do-jun (Won Bin). Although Do-jun is 28 years old, his mental capacity is far below someone his age and perhaps the reason for his many eccentric personality traits.

Late one night, Do-jun leaves a bar drunk and walks home. Along the way home, he follows a school girl down an alley, before a huge rock thrown his way chases him away. When he arrives home, Do-jun sleeps on the floor next to his mother like he always does.

The next day the police discover a murdered high school girl and a golf ball with Do-jun’s name inscribed on it near the crime scene. With only this small bit of evidence, Do-jun is taken into custody and promptly arrested for her murder. His defense attorney looks for a quick plea bargain – which would require Do-jun to spend four years in detention – which isn’t an option for Hye-ja and her only son. Faced with no other options, Hye-ja takes the initiative to prove her son’s innocence.

After being forced to resign from her publishing company job when her magazine goes out of circulation, office worker Haname Jinchoge (Kumiko Aso) is given the name of her real father-Noburo Jinchoge when her mother (Keiko Matsuzaka) falls into a coma after nearly drowning in a pond while searching for kappa.

Unsure if Noburo (Morio Kazama) is her father, Haname decides to visit him but tells him that she is a distant relative, he happens to be the shopkeeper at an odd antiquities shop called Light Bulb Co., working for her father is a punk rocker named Gas (Ryo Kase).

Haname becomes fascinated with the various oddities and charm of Light Bulb Co., and discovers that she, like her father has a knack for selling things so she decides to become a shopkeeper herself. Customers are hard to come by, but she listens to her dad’s strange advice-like filling a sink full of water whilst running errands makes life exciting. One day her father offers to sell her the key to the family warehouse for 1 million yen to fund his next trip, which she excitedly agrees to without thinking. However, when she discovers a shocking fact about Light Bulb Co. she chucks the key away in disgust. Later she realizes that she’s been stubborn not telling Noburo he was her dad, but by the time she runs back to meet him he’s already gone. Eventually Haname with the support of gas….
